Mark Prior and Dontrelle Willis

Both players are still attempting to come back and become MLB quality starters.
Who are you rooting for to make it?
I Think Willis is with the Cubs on a minor league deal while Prior is I believe pitching independent league after being released by Boston. Both were electrifying at a young age and looked like they could be destined for HOF one day but each has had career derailed by various issues.

Brad Hawpe launched one off Prior in 2000 College World Series, he didn't like it too much

Did Jason Knapp stop playing baseball?

I'd love to see D Train get back to any resemblance of what he was with the Marlins

I don't know what the Cubs were thinking when they traded him.

I thought we were about to talk about the starting rotation for the 2003 NLCS

I thought this was a 2003-related thread too. Ten years. Man.

Willis was good early on, but he was never destined for the HOF.

Rooting for both, but moreso for Prior because that dude was like a top 10-12 guy for his first 2 seasons or so. Thought he was going to be the next dominant ace for a dozen or so years.

Finished second in CY Young at 23 and his 3rd season in majors. 46 wins in first 3 seasons

Where is Toe Nash when you need him.

Had he kept up his first 3 seasons he would have been in discussion. 3.30, 4.02, 2.87 era in those 3 seasons, 46 wins over that span.

Prior. I love watching him pitch. I went to the Cubs-Rockies the day after he was with a line drive. It was sad to see him in a sling, but I was amped cause I was seeing Mark Prior in the flesh.
I still have my home Mark Prior jersey (and my Kerry Wood t-shirty jersey).
