The idea of Stud moving on and LSU getting a legit OL coach and OC makes me very happy. I would love for Ensminger to be put in a cab too.

True, Cameron has a couple of glitches on his resume. However, he has some high points as well. The reality is, though, that we do not need for Cameron to be an offensive god. We only need for him to be better than Stud; I'm confident that he would be.

Moreover, the foremost reason why I hope Cameron becomes LSU's OC is because of his personality and relationship with Les. Cameron is an established coaching heavyweight. He and Les have a close, personal relationship. They have been friends for years and have taken vacations together.

I think Cameron may be one of the few personalities out there that could convince Les to keep his mitts off the offense. Cameron would not be a yes man or Les' bitch. Cameron would have his own ideas and plans for LSU's offense and I think he would let it be known that he intends to run the offense as he sees fit. And because of their long relationship, friendship, and mutual respect, I think Les would defer.

You realize that all the rumors are saying that Stud is still here, right?

I have heard those, yes.

My hopes and dreams just got away from me in that sentence.

You can do worse than Stud as an OL coach.

He's just not a good OC.

This is one of the few magical times when the rant universally agrees on something this thread was not needed

The OL has been up and down since Stud came here.

He's a bad OC..an alright OL coach. I think we could do better than him at the position.

But he is more tolerable as strictly a OL coach.

Just because STUD has not been a good OC doesnt mean he is a bad OL coach. He is probably not even that bad of an OC, the problem is he has had to be an OC and coach the offensive line at the same time.

The best part of the rumors are that Miles trusts Cameron enough to let him call the plays and install his offense. We need a change and a different perspective. I bet the offensive players are fricking pumped about it as well.

The problem is Miles doesn't let him control the offense so 2 different people with 2 different offensive philosophies are tug-o-war'ing with the offense. Disaster and lack of identity ensue.

This should be awesome if Cameron gets 90% of the play calls.

Exactly.

That is the main emphasis.

And I think Cameron is one of only a very few that could have that leverage and sway with Les.

Pretty much every OC coaches a position along with coordinating.

True, but I don't think Stud is capable enough of doing this.

When is the last time we had a truly bad line?

Even this year, we lost 3 starters, played an average guard at LT and still our line play wasn't awful.

I don't think we've had a truly bad line under his watch.

2008 OL was horrible.

Since then the OL has been good at times and not so good at times.
