Folks were down in the dumps after the chicken bowl loss and then all of the underclassmen heading to the draft early. Fast forward a few weeks:

1) LSU lands a great class that is deep and addressed team needs. Pretty much got all Louisiana players it wanted and then went out of state to get elite players.
2) The 2014 Louisiana high school class might be the best in history.
3) LSU close to hiring Cam Cameron as OC giving LSU arguably the best OC/DC combo in college football.

Great talent mixed with great coaching, with a national figure like Les Miles as head coach. Seems like the future is extremely bright for the program.

No, I actually think most people were hoping that Miles would get an actual OC and let him be The Chief, on that side of the ball. Even sunshine pumpers were seeing the need

Now we just have to see if Miles will allow that

i agree. we have been an offensive team that rarely hit on all cylinders for several years now and worse, an offense that couldn't move the ball very well against the tough teams. next year, our O needs to help our D out more; this defense has been decimated experience wise. we have loads of talent but we are extremely thin on experience. if we can fix our O and keep some juniors next year, we may very well the most powerful LSU team ever. (ooos; forgot that we must have some experience at qb. i hope to god miles works in a second qb this year).

The week after NSD is the best time of the year for Les Miles and his fans.
Les is a constently effective recruiter, and his performance, as judged on NSD is always championship caliber.
Les' ratings are nearly as high at the begining of each season and then often fades, with now predictable bonehededness from the sidelines. His system makes him a winner overall, with 9 wins a pretty good bet.
If you don't like Les this week, you never will.

Then they are idiots. I was never down in the dumps...this program is and will continue to be solid.

This. I am not a huge Les Miles fan, but this would be a step in the right direction. I can never get over his "game plan" on 1/9.

Yes. However, this time he is actually making the change we've all been yelling for. We needed a true offensive coordinator in the worst, worst way.

while this is undeniable every year, except 2011 regulare season, i think the only thing that would change that is to never lose a football game. and even that would probably change because many would hate the way he would win them. the fact is that in my lifetime LSU fans are pretty much never completly satisfied with their coach. there will even be some critisism when the team beats the hell out of an opponent. took a knee way too early against ole miss, didn't play the #2 qb enough, shouldn't have taken the foot off the gas, etc., etc. i am completely convince that that is way we are. and that's not all a bad thing either. by god LSU is our team. OUR TEAM. and we have a right to bitch.
