CBS' media rape of Lower 9th Ward (Posted on 2/5/13 at 7:44 pm)
Apologies if this has already been posted. I do have German heritage! Anyway, living out of state these days I'm sick of how the rest of the country sees New Orleans. CBS and numerous other media outlets are largely responsible for this. This article sheds great perspective to reality - NOT what CBS wants you to believe. LINK

?Those without a high school degree went from 40.1 percent to 27.3 percent, which is a fairly significant, positive and notable change. _________________________________

It specifically indicates several overall positives. CBS would leave you thinking the sky is falling and there is racial divisiveness at the root. Activists are wonderful scumbags aren't they?

I missed what CBS said wrote. Were they thinking the people living in those homes before Katrina were going to return and spend "money" on rebuilding. They didn't own those homes and the people who did sure as hell aren't. It would take 3 lifetimes to pay off new construction in a community like that. Banks wouldn't finance it unless they had all monies guaranteed out of the landowner's pocket. My father owns/manages 2200 units. We deal with the exact same issues as this in many of our units. Many of the properties are acquired in a straight cash sale with no financing involved. I could delve into this subject with an extraordinary amount of details, but it's all common sense.

Your closing remarks of "common sense" is the jist of the entire point. Seriously, how does one rebuild a slum? Do those residents deserve better dwellings than they had? Someone tell me. CBS paints a picture that the rebuild of the lower 9th ward is the barometer for "return" The idea of rebuilding that area as an industrial center for shipping makes total sense. Activists pull the plug onthat piece of promise. Why do Activists have so much leverage?

The "Lowa 9" was a crime infested, murder infested ZOO prior to Katrina. All these liberal a$$holes wouldn't have even driven through the "Lowa 9" at night without armed guards prior to Katrina. Now, they want to make it a cause célèbre.
WHY???
Simply to promote their own liberal/racist agenda.
The people that owned their own homes took the FEMA money (which was FAR IN EXCESS of pre-K fair market values thanks to racist judges) and RAN as fast as they could from the "Lowa 9". That's the story they're not telling.
