Why? He's a four star OG and Miami isn't exactly in the position to be turning away quality recruits right now without a good reason.

There's been talk of a lot of immaturity displayed during his recruitment and drama, but the kid is an absolute monster.
Also, would be incredibly interesting if we did end up taking him as he and Matthew Thomas have always held firm to the notion that they are a package deal. As far as I know.

I meant was he for sure an OL guy ONLY? also, any LSU ol commits go to defense (lawson spot).

No, Quay bain is a current DT commit that also played OL in high school. But that's opposite of what you're asking.

I HIGHLY doubt we would nab a package deal the day before NSD from two players who haven't visited.
Our best chance would be if he postponed his announcement.
Also, it sounds like Miami learned the error of their ways if they are back "in", but it will be interesting if he stiffs them for what they did to him already

How common is this to send an LOI to a recruit like this that we have heard nothing about?

anyone know how it works. we are in a quiet period. yet, we offer a LOI to a recruit who has not visited us. does this suggest we have been talking with him all along or can you talk to his coach and get coach to relay messages.

I'm with you. I don't think it's likely we land them either.
It's just that it would very interesting if we ended up getting Kirkland, because of how adamant the two have been about playing together.
