What's it like? Sorry didn't watch the Ravens much this season while he was still coaching.

Your answer may lie in the 10 page cam cameron thread located directly under this one.

Well, he got fired from the Ravens for not giving the ball to Ray Rice enough and letting the Super Bowl MVP air it out. Also, his offense just steamrolled the NFL playoffs, even if it was without him.

Cameron runs a conservative West coast offense that utilizes a heavy dose of power run to draw the defense in to set up deep strikes downfield. Think of Marty ball when LaDanian Tomlinson was still playing for the Chargers and the type of offense seen with the Ravens the past 4 years. It's a very conservative offensive philosophy in relation to other NFL offenses.

I believe the issue with Cameron and Flacco was that they were often at odds on how the offense was managed. I don't see how anyone can argue that he did not utilize Ray Rice. Cameron was the reason why Ray Rice became a star player with his physical limitations.

I disagree. Ray Rice works his butt off, plays extremely hard, and has a great offensive line and an extremely good QB. Cameron played a part in making Rice a star. But, Rice and his teammates have more to do with his success than the coaching staff, IMO.

I don't question Rice's work ethic at all but you can make that statement about a lot of RB's in the league that did not produce because they weren't utilized to their capabilities. He is a lot smaller than the average NFL back but is still putting up elite numbers as a premiere back at only 5'8" 212 pounds. He's like a smaller but faster Mark Ingram. Put him on the Saints offense and he would be lucky to consistently hit 1,000 rushing yards each season.

BTW, I really like Cam Cameron and think he is a great offensive coach. Without him, the Ravens are probably giving Ray Rice the ball 75% of the time and still wouldn't realize how good that Joe Flacco could be. He's the one that helped develop Flacco and trusted him to let him throw it just as many times as they ran it. He's the one that developed the offense that just destroyed the rest of the NFL in the playoffs. Cam Cameron is the one that setup that 3rd down pass play from Flacco to Anquan Boldin. Without Cam Cameron's influence, the Ravens are running it into the offensive line and punting instead of letting Flacco get the first downs with his arm. Cam Cameron is just what Les Miles needs.

you could put Walter Payton on the Saints and he wouldn't rush for 1,000 yards. It is a completely different offense.

The guy has had successful offenses in the NFL for almost 10 years and i'm sure the quarterbacks won't mind a little coaching from someone like that. Will help with recruiting as well.

That was my point. Cameron's offenses are very RB friendly. This also includes FB's as he has sent quite a few of them to pro bowls. Tomlinson and Rice flourished in his offenses. That's why I question anyone who says he does not utilize his RB's. He is perfect for Miles' run first offense.

Man, that is not honest at all.. I don't know if you're just repeating what you heard, but that isn't factual.

Rice averaged 1 more carry per game with Caldwell. They had to shake things up and he was in a pissing match with Flacco about playcalls. He is one of the most respected OC's in the game. He has succeeded nearly everywhere he's been in charge of calling the plays. It is a pro-style running offense that baits defenses with play action for deep strikes.
