I know it's not a popular genre but there are some good bands out there.
Switchfoot
RED
Skillet
Odd to lump Swicthfoot in since they don't like being called Christan rock

Not sure you're into the Praise & Worship genre or not,but, if you are, here are a few bands worth checking out:

1. The Digital Age (comprised of some of the remaining members of the David Crowder Band*)
2. Bellarive
3. Future of Forestry
4. Gungor
5. Robbie Seay Band
6. Elevation Worship

Not Christian music really, but August Burns Red is considered a Christian band. They pretty much blow away any other Christian band I've ever heard.
