I installed it a couple days ago its pretty awesome. Faster than Windows 7, the new Start screen is badass if you take a few minutes and set up your icons and stuff. I unpinned most of the stupid apps and just arranged the stuff I want. And if you want to get back to the desktop THERE IS A frickING BUTTON RIGHT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE START SCREEN. Also, check this out.

The only difference for the vast majority of users is that instead of an unusable clusterfrick of a start button/menu, you have a start screen. Either put tiles on it for your most used apps, or just start typing the name of the app you want and hit enter when it appears. Regular apps open on the win7 style desktop, where you should feel right at home. You can also pin your most used apps to the taskbar. It really is dead simple. You don't have to use "metro" apps if you don't want to.
