Are you really fricking bitching about having to purchase a $130 piece of equipment to get those speeds? That's ludicrously cheap.

I'd go blind and get right-hand carpal tunnel with those speeds.

It's actually Ludicrously expensive to pay $55 or $63 to rent the modem a month for just 25Mbps and extremely outdated tech.

You should be fine with this. It supports the updated speeds

most routers made in the last few years support at least 1Gbps connections. Most likely you have this. But the modem sold be cox is an all in one modem/router/access point

Speed beyond 20 meg or so is silly for residential in many cases. I want them to come up with a service that minimizes my jitter and latency at 10 meg down/ 2 up.

Did anyone's Cox internet bill go up? I saw a $3/month increase on my latest bill. ETA: Just checked their site and the Preferred Tier did have an increase from $52.99 to $55.99. Anyone have issues with streaming or downloading with Cox's lowest tier? That's all I do so I may just downgrade.

Absolutely. It is such a marketing game to offer residential plans at 50 meg.
