tomorrow night should be interesting.

doubt EG plays...so monty will be forced to play Aminu probably, even if he is in the doghouse.

So there is no middle ground between playing 40+ minutes a night and never playing Davis in the 4th quarter, having huge amounts of game time without a competent guard in despite having 2 on our roster, and player Rivers 25 minutes?

Davis was out because Anderson was hot, and he is our comeback guy with good reason (points and more points).

...also, Davis had no chance in the paint against Howard, and he was in foul trouble....so there was Lopez.

it makes a lot of sense

but ..... but!!! he was really hands on during that one NBATV special during their practice! plus its really cool to post this when talking about him! it doesn't really matter that he's never proven anything in the NBA!

no really. I agree with you 100%. the guy has consistently made bad decisions in clutch time. last season he gave Jarret Jack the green light and allowed him to single handily lose at least 10 games for us.

Watching the games?

Let's see...pick-n-roll, rub for Anderson, rub for Gordon.

Did I miss anything?

This times a million. Sometimes it's Henry instead of Thomas but regardless it just gets killed and Monty plays it like 12 minutes a game. The end of the game tonight I didn't really have a problem with, but I would have put Davin over Rivers. Helps the defense more Gordon can guard Kobe as well as Rivers did, and not like Rivers contributed anything to the offensive comeback

Go back and watch the film. Rivers defense on Kobe was outstanding down the stretch. As good as I've seen all year. Maybe, just maybe, Monty is coaching the second youngest team in the nba to succeed down not road, not just in a midweek game in LA. Just a thought. Maybe I don't know jack shite.

You could see it a mile away that we were going to lose that game in the beginning of the second with that bullshite rotation. Well everybody but Monty could I guess.

There's a lot of teams that needs to let go of their coach since they can't do anything with their less talented team. Its funny when you think of it. People seem to expect the team to be in the hunt for the playoffs right now. They must not know of the roster we have, or are just retarded. The last tome we had an competent roster we did something. The possibilities are endless when we complete this roster. But I'll tell you this, if we don't make the playoffs next year then something has to shake. That's where I am with it.

the high percentage shots he gets for Smith (who was cold tonight, but lots of open looks), the well drawn up plays to get AD open shots at the FT line and under the basket to name a few more. i'm not going on and on, but in case you haven't noticed, the Hornets offense has drastically improved since EG has come back. you don't score as many points as the hornets have with a predictable offense.

This game was winnable though. This and the Golden State and Spurs games were all winnable. And we probably win them if Monty just plays the starters 4 more minutes

Bad rotations

Probably his biggest issue. As EG gets healthier and can play more minutes, we'll see either he or Vasquez on the floor more often.

predictable offensive schemes

We're 14th in offensive efficiency with the second youngest team in the NBA + $18m in payroll locked up in players that aren't on the team. And that's WITH another $13m in our best scorer being injured for most of the season.

We have 4 games in 5 days. We aren't making the playoffs. I wanted to beat LAL and think he should have taken Rivers out a bit sooner, but whatever. Something many of you are either missing or just don't care about: Monty has to make decisions in the offseason about what to do with the bench. AD could use some more time to develop than he's getting, but we really know what we have in Vasquez/Gordon. Playing 30-35 minutes isn't going to benefit them this season, and we DEFINITELY don't want to see Gordon playing that much with his injury history. Roberts and Rivers are rookies that Monty needs to find out how they fit in his future plans, especially Rivers.

Yeh that might hold weight if people were just slamming on Monty for not winning. That isn't the case. We are fed up of his bullshite rotations and offering alternatives. You are closing your ears to the fact that Davis can play more minutes and Vasquez and Gordon can be split such that one is almost always on the court.

Serious question for the people conceding that Monty's rotations are terrible........

Why do you think he should be an NBA coach then? Do you think rotations account for a small portion of a coach's job? The way I see it, that is the one thing a coach controls that has any sort of objectivity to it.

Those open looks under the basket for AD are all about Davis making great cuts to basket. The only play Monty really calls for Davis is when he curls off a pick-roll for a mid-range jumper or rolls to the rim.

Once again, the majority of Smith's open jumpers come off of pick-n-rolls.

The offense is better since EG's return, because Gordon's a talented player. He opens up the offense and spaces the floor as soon as he steps onto the court.

Talent can overcome schemes...but to an extent.

How much nba do you watch? You do realize this team is extremely young and not making the playoffs right? If you want future success, your young players have to learn how to play in these types of games. Easiest thing in the world to say is play the starters more.

NBA coaching is all about matchups. On most nights the opponent has more chess prices than NOLA. That was the case tonight. The bench play against Memphis was an absolute anomaly, and you see the end result. I'm sure you were hollering for the starters to get more minutes that night as well.

I said it earlier in the game thread. The only way monty's coaching is acceptable is if you think we are semi-tanking. So i sincerely hope that's what he is doing
