@TigerBaitWill: Jewel Sumner coach Zeph Powell said DB Jeremy Cutrer - a #LSU commitment - will sign next Wednesday with Mississippi Gulf Coast CC.

I know we've all been hearing about his potential grade problems. This is the biggest news I've read regarding moving parts to this problem.

Losing Cutrer would be HUGE. That would give us zero safety signees in this 2013 class.

Hoping for the best with this one, but it ain't looking good...

Hopefully he makes it here in 14

Jefferson will play safety and may have to give diarse a look there now

Robinson can lay the wood. Watch out for him at safety.

My biggest concern with this class after the need at DL. The whole time I was wondering why we were taking only one safety when we know Cutrer had grade issues.

I understand the DB position is stacked in 2014, but still I think we shoulda taken 2. Of course losing Willis and Goodman is kinda out of our control.

Quite the mistake by this staff IMO

Robinson isn't built to play safety. At least not right now or in the near future.

I'm more worried about him signing his LOI to LSU than anything.

Yes I know we needed a safety this year. This is the depth chart.

FS
No. 26 Ronald Martin 6-1, 202 SO
No. 39 Jerqwinick Sandolph 6'2, 190, SO

SS
No. 06 Craig Loston 6-2, 205, SR
No. 34 Micah Eugene 5-11, 190, SO
No. 12 Corey Thompson 6-2, 210, SO

We will get a couple in the 2014 class.

Ouch... That's as thin of a safety depth chart as they come.

I honestly don't think we are as fricked as most people think. The depth at DB isn't really that bad at all.
CB-Jalen Mills, Jalen Collins, Tre' White, Brazil, Dwayne Thomas, Derrick Raymond, K. Holmes

S-Craig Loston, Corey Thompson, Ronald Martin, T. LeBeau, Micah Eugene, J. Sandolph

I think Jefferson will get looked at Safety. Diarse stays at WR. And Robinson may get looked at Safety too (if he makes it too LSU) but he definitely needs to put on some weight over the spring and summer. This also doesn't include the guys we have listed as just "DB" without a specified position.

This is how it stands for now. This is not the recruiting class coming in. Also no one knows how everything will shake out and how some guys get moved around. We will see in the coming months.

As the lone safety in his class, I would have expected him to get some good experience at least against weaker teams (especially more experience than he will be getting now)...
