updated big board from one of the more reputable draftniks.

If this would end up like the Saints big board the likely choice would be between Dion Jordan & Johnathan Hankins. You can make a case for either. Who do you like? Jordan for me.

At #75 say any player from #65 down is available. Who there? I like safeties Tony Jefferson or Bacarri Rambo.

If we were still a 4-3 I would take Corey Lemonier but since we are now a 3-4, whoever is the best ball hawking FS

On that list,

1st best of Moore, Mingo, Jones, or Jordan.

3rd: rambo. id have a hard time passing up Porter though.

With the promise our backups showed, I really find it hard to believe we go young at safety. If we do anything at safety, i think its a start now veteran.

I'm on record as saying that pass rusher is the #1 need, so from that list, I'm going Jordan.

Without researching too much, here is who I would look at in the third round:

Kyle Long OT Oregon (OG)
Baccari Rambo FS Georgia
Tony Jefferson FS Oklahoma
Sean Porter LB Texas AM
Chase Thomas LB Stanford
Cornelius Washington DE Georgia
Kevin Reddick LB North Carolina
Jamie Collins LB Southern Mississippi
Menelik Watson OT Florida State
Shawn Williams SS Georgia

Lemonier could definitely play OLB in a 3-4.

If you want real fun you can do 6 rounds from the linked list.

choose
#15 from #12-20
#75 from #65-85
#108 from #98-118
#139 from #129-149
#175 from #165-185
#206 from #196 down

mine end up-

RD1 Dion Jordan
RD 2 S Bacarri Rambo, S Tony Jefferson, or OT Chris Faulk
RD 3 LB Sean Porter, LB Gerald Hodges, or NT Kwame Geathers (his uncle Jumpy played for the Saints. His father played in the NFL and he has two brothers in the NFL now)
RD 4 WR Marquise Goodwin Texas, Olympic speed
RD 5 DE/OLB Stansly Maponga TCU looks like he could play OLB. Where's yurintroubl?
RD 6 TE Jake Stoneburner just for his name

Assuming we take Jordan with our first.

As for the third, I'm a big Sean Porter fan, but I guess that slots already filled, so, time to start acquiring some beef, Brandon Williams.

Just to be a little different than you:

1. Jonathan Cooper OG North Carolina (really this could be a best available pick)
3. Arthur Brown LB Kansas State (or OL, depending on how the first round goes)
4. I see some RB's that I would consider a steal
5. A d-lineman would be good here.
6. Eric Martin DE Nebraska (just for his name)

Jonathan Cooper OG North Carolina

The Saints are a strong BPA team but after QB OG might be the lowest need on the team. With $17.1 committed to guards in 2013 I don't see a 1st Rd pick for a backup

Arthur Brown LB Kansas State

Isn't he an ILB only? I'm thinking Lofton/Hawthorne are solid starters. Again, there's $11.8mil committed to the position already.

I see some RB's that I would consider a steal

Agree but we're already struggling to find enough reps for the talented RB group we already have.

A d-lineman would be good here.

A good d-lineman woould be good anywhere
