quote:
Phillip Walker Sailors, 69, of Lilburn, was booked into the Gwinnett County jail Sunday afternoon and charged with murder for the death of Rodrigo Abad Diaz, according to jail records and his arrest warrant. Diaz, 22, was shot in the head Saturday night as he tried to drive away from Sailors’ home on Hillcrest Road in Lilburn, the warrant states.
quote:
Friends of Diaz, of Duluth, told Channel 2 Action News that he and others were trying to find a friend’s house, but their GPS instead led them to the home on Hillcrest Road, off Indian Trail Road.
quote:
After seeing the car in his driveway, Sailors came out of his home, went back inside, then came out again with a gun

I was thinking about this the other night. If I defended myself from someone, I'd imagine chances are they'll come back later (Like in Gran Torino, maybe ) and try again. So, if I shot someone after they started running away, wouldn't that be defending myself? I don't understand how that works.

Meanwhile someone tried to break into my parents house last night at 11pm. The guy was beating on the back door, tripped the house alarm, and when he stepped inside the house my dad had a Ruger SR9 pointed directly into his forehead with a blinding light mounted on it and turned on. Dude didn't get shot, but had he taken about two steps my dad would have wasted him. Oh yeah - my dad lives about 20 miles north of Slidell in the more remote parts of Louisiana. Be careful out there folks - Obama's voting base is going crazy.

As long as they're still inside your home, and as long as you have a great attorney, then maybe.

Probably not. You typically have to have a reasonable apprehension of serious bodily harm or death to use deadly force to protect yourself. Once the immediate threat of such is removed, your right to use deadly force ends. Now, under certain circumstances could you be acquitted? Sure. But, assuming the facts you gave are the undisputed evidence of the case, you don't have the right to use deadly force because you fear some future retribution for having let an intruder get away.

All we can know for certain from the story is that he has ONE gun and no known criminal history. But, that doesn't stop our own far left whack-job liberal f*cking moron from jumping to the conclusion that he's a "gun nut." You really need some serious f*cking professional help.

The old man blew away some dude who was in a vehicle in his driveway leaving. He's a nut. The old man blew away some dude who was in a vehicle in his driveway leaving. He has a gun. It's not a huge leap.

My gun instructor told me that if I'm in fear of my life, I should kill that person. Otherwise, he'll sue me.
