LINK Article in The New Yorker that basically says everyone in the south is antiquated and out of touch with the new modern era because we are generally conservative.

You should read the article before you link it. The very last paragraph stands in absolute defiance of your assertion.

well this statement is pretty bad

The libertarians on here are hardly representative of southern conservatives.

Pussies think it automatically equates to racism and sexism.

The tone was pretty condescending. I'm a liberal and a southerner. I should be his target audience, but I am pissed off after reading this.

so why don't guys like the writer of that article be more specific? it's like the elitists who always imply that conservatives (even solely economic ones like the original tea party) are racists and let's not act like traditional/GOP conservatives are isolated in the south it's not a southern/northern thing. it's a city/non-city thing

It's just easier to stay a few decades in the past and push the easy button.

Also that stuff about "solidity" was complete BS. He acts like the "South" has always been a single monolithic entity.

They should just let us go... separate from the nation. It's got to be killing them so much that we are holding them back. Just think, without the south their dreams can be had.

So you don't agree with one man, one vote? Maybe some formula taking into account acreage would be more fair?

Just curious, how in the hell did you get this..
quote:

From this?
quote:
it's not a southern/northern thing. it's a city/non-city thing
When his point was clear that he meant that "red" votes aren't limited to the South?
