Watching thanks for the post

Watched for 30 seconds and wanted to shoot myself in the head. Communicating as a team is one thing, but I'm not sure what the hell they were spewing over their mics.
"Spawn green, left up down, purple, above, underneath"

Sounded like everyone playing was being broadcast. Impossible to keep up with.

Exactly. Not sure why they decided to do it that way.

It's what it sounds like when your team calls out everything. I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me much.

They are just tapped into the Astro voice connection of one of the two teams. Very easy to keep up with, actually.
For those of you that can't keep up with it I just suggest you stick to slower, more beginner-friendly games like COD.

On a related note (not about what you are complaining about, though) the production of this has been pretty awful. The announcers are terrible and they've had a plethora of technical issues.
However, it is AGL's first attempt at this so it will get better over time I'm sure.

The championship is going on right now. Ambush is up 6-1 games on Warriors. If they win one more game they win it all.

So they won $1,125 each, not bad I guess.

Think this is the dumbest thing I've read here.

That's a tiny payout compared to what MLG used to give. Think it was 20k for regionals and 100k for the nationals.

Not going to get into a debate about this right now, but playing both games competitively and watching both extensively since Halo:CE began on the circuit with AGP tournaments I can confidently say that historically Halo, in general, requires more skill and teamwork than COD. Feel free to disagree. I don't give a shite.

It's the first tournament from a group that has never hosted a Halo tournament. Just wait until Virgin Gaming starts hosting these bad boys and you'll see payouts that blow even MLG out of the water.

Virgin does a great job with EA Sports.

It's dumb because I wasn't talking about the complexity of the game. Just trying to decipher all those voices shouting at each other.

Not sure which matchup it was, but that dude Pistola was absolutely sick with the BR.

Used to run customs with him back in H2 before he blew up. Kid has always been ridiculous.

Nice.
The kid looks like McLovin.

To summarize how I felt about the first tournament:
Halo 4 is LEAGUES ahead of where Halo 2 and Halo 3 were 2-3 months into the game being released. The MLG/AGL/whateverthefrickyouwanttocallit gametypes are already quite good. The changes made to oddball with the ability to throw it was a great addition and is by far the most entertaining gametype to watch.
There are already several very good maps, most of which being player-created. I think they need a 2 or 3 more maps and there should be plenty of variety to play.
BR start is the way to go. The DMR is just too overpowered. While the BR is still somewhat easy to use, individual skill still plays a large part as there were many cases where someone was able to out-BR the other person. It wasn't simply "whoever saw the other person first" like it often is with the DMR.
The teamwork aspect of the game weighs more heavily than individual skill when compared to previous Halos. Good communication and controlling weapon/powerup spawns is the key to this game.
I actually don't mind having the ability to call down things such as hardlight shields. It adds that extra wrinkle to gametypes such as extraction. However, they need to continue to stay away from weapon powerups/damage boost/etc.
They need to work A LOT on production issues at the next tournament. Every possible technical difficulty imaginable happened at least half a dozen times, including the stream freezing, mics not working, mis-naming players when viewing their screen, keeping the giant logo up and blocking gampeplay/the score/etc., issues with running the commercials when they were supposed to, etc. It was pretty bad.
The announcers were awful. Either they need to get new announcers or just stick to playing audio from actual gameplay. Personally, I prefer to just listen to one of the teams communicate, but as is evident from posts here, that isn't for everyone. Also, quit fricking talking about twitter and tweets. I know you are trying to get your name out but saying "Follow us on twitter!" or "Retweet us on twitter!" every 20 seconds is just too much.
More "good" teams need to come back. I know Reach scared most of the people off and I'm sure they will slowly come back, but there were only maybe 6 "good" teams at this tournament. As more people come back and prizes increase in value, this should take care of itself.
