| Anyone just watch Anderson Cooper skip over what Alan West said on CNN? (Posted on 1/24/13 at 9:15 pm)
As far as women in special forces? Very odd.

West was talking about how women shouldn't be on the front lines in combat or allowed in the special forces, meanwhile Cooper had a Canadian journalist on there bragging about how their women have performed on the front lines. And when Cooper asked West why he thought the decision to let women fight on the front lines was political, West said that most 3 and 4 star generals were political appointees.....and he was cut off.

There is a major difference between serving on the front line and serving as an infantryman. Women did their job in certain situations in which they found themselves there, but to act as if they performed infantry duty 24/7/365 during a deployment is silly/delusional/lying.

Homosexuals and women on the front lines. Yep that's the ticket, I bet Russia is shaking in their boots... pretty soon with the cut backs and changes by this administration there will be no one else to serve anyway.

Allen West is the fricking man. And women in combat roles is dumbest thing I've ever heard.

And dangerous. Someone who's served more recently than I have can correct me, but at least back in the 70's and 80's, the PT requirements for women were less than for men. Kind of like woman's bball with the smaller ball.

Still different, much easier for women.

While there are certainly concerns on the impact of women as far as unit cohesiveness and morale, I very much doubt that women will be let into combat jobs if they do not pass the same physical standards as males.

Hemp thay already have different standards, not saying all combat positions will have different standards but many do.

I may be old fashioned, but I always thought it was our duty as males to do the fighting. What happens if we reinstate the draft? Will women be drafted is infantrymen/women?

Why do you doubt that? The military has quotas and different standards to insure success for the disadvantaged (less able) groups why should they allow this experiment to fail?

As you may know, I'm an enormous liberal. I'm in favor of gender equality. They better not change the physical fitness standards. If the freak of nature female athlete wants to be a grunt, fine. But don't endanger the lives of soldiers on the front lines by lowering the bar.

This is a political hot potato and the Democrats aren't seeing it. Or maybe they are... But the first time a platoon of women get wiped out and their bodies drug across some 3rd world down town, its going to make us rethink the policy I believe.

That is just the half of it PRK, having to increase the amount of supply in the logistical chains is going to be insane.

1. There won't be a platoon of women. 2. The women who will volunteer could probably beat your ass.
