| Readers sue Armstrong over drug-use denial in books (Posted on 1/24/13 at 7:00 pm)
If deemed MSB material, please move. LINK
quote:
An aide to former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he was so taken by Lance Armstrong's first memoir of battling back from cancer to win the Tour de France multiple times that he immediately read it "cover to cover" and recommended it to several friends. Now he wants his money back - and then some. Rob Stutzman and several others who bought Armstrong's "It's Not About The Bike" and "Every Second Counts" have filed a lawsuit in Sacramento federal court. It alleges Armstrong duped them into believing the books were inspirational true accounts of the cyclist's accomplishments done without performance-enhancing drugs. The lawsuit accuses Armstrong and the books' publishers of committing fraud, false advertising and other wrongdoing for publishing the cyclist's vehement denials that he wasn't a cheat.
FWIW, Lance can eat it IMHO.

The FTC needs to sue the shite out of him for false advertising, frick Lance Armstrong. Not only did he disgrace the USA but he also ruined peoples loves that accused him of doping. I hope he gets sued and charges get filed against him for something.

I care because he ruined peoples lives and he deserves to have his life ruined. I have heard about multiple people who lost their jobs because of him. He got a $500,000 judgment for slander against his old masseuse and garnished her wages. He got a bunch of journalists fired and won lawsuits against them. His lies have caused divorces. He stole over $100 million dollars from Americans with his lies. He also lied to the world and made the US look bad. If anyone deserves to lose everything it is Lance Armstrong. I don't care about many things in this world but the more I think about it the more it pisses me off.

Just send a press release asking Amazon to move it to the fiction section.

He should have just STFU and gone away. I know his revenue streams got cut off and the admissions were the only way to eventually get them back and into public favor. That said, some estimates had him worth $150 million. The lawsuits after the interview are going to kill him.

I would bet he is worth even more than that.

Lance Armstrong is still a badass athlete who rose above his fellow competitors to succeed at a level never before seen. His doping was done in a time and way that was commensurate with that of his competitors. Since his doping was leveling the playing field rather than gaining an advantage, by definition then he was not cheating.

He had one testicle, all other cyclists had two, he was at a disadvantage from day one. All other cyclers doped and he did as well but he still won with determination, the man wanted to help people and did, helped raise millions for cancer. Oh so now he lied, so it's like would you kill a kid to save a 1000 people, all about the greater good.
