Bring the bill as it is up for a vote, because it won't pass but will take a lot of democrats down with it.

Every day that we can keep the gun control talk going on in Washington increases the odds that the Repubs take the Senate and gain more House seats in 2014.
I would love for Mary Landrieu to have to vote - in fact I would really love for her to be the deciding vote in the Senate. If that happens get used to saying Senator Cassidy.

There is no reason not to bring it up for a vote in the Senate.
But that won't happen, we all know that.

It is still in committee. Once out of committee though, how does a Democrat controlled Senate allow the Repubs to dictate what happens with the bill? Asking??

It only comes up for a vote if Harry Reid says it does.

I'm positive they are trying too. I'm sure a liberal in the House will file a bill that Boehner and co. will rush to the floor to be voted on.

Reid won't let it come up for a vote. Liberal punidts are alreasdy starting to accuse Reid of obstructionism.

Because a big chunk of those Dems come from Pro Gun states.

That seems dumb IMHO. Defeating it in the House only gives the Senate D's a valid reason not to vote for it in the Senate.
The goal should be to put Senators up for re-election on record for 2014, not give them an excuse to not go on record.

Feinstein's bill also bans grenade launchers and rocket launchers, which are already banned. Obviously that was just put in so she can demagogue the Republicans when they vote it down.

The senate R's should do whatever they can to get this put to a vote. Of course Reid won't let it come to that, but the R's should go public and say they are ready to vote on it.

I amused at how the political chickenhawks like Feinstein are urging their Democratic colleagues from rural states to show political courage and stand tough. When has Feinstein ever taken a tough vote in her life?
