Just another way for them to squeeze money out of you. Forget just making a game challenging enough to play over and over.

Dumb people are dumb.

Its optional.

Its Visceral's game so it'll be hard as shite.

Just a way to squeeze money out of stupid people and whiny brats.

Won't impact people who play normally.

These resources (materials, scrap parts and the like) can be picked up by the player, picked up by scavenger bots you send out, or alternatively bought through a quick purchase from the in-game store.

It is purely optional. All purchaseable items can be found for free in-game

I know, EA has had the optional purchased upgrades thing going for a while now. I don't understand the timing of the outrage, cause they definitely aren't the only ones doing this.

Grow up people. This is the way the industry is going, like it or not.

This, I have never seen so many complain over features in a game that were optional.

So none of you think the fact that they are selling the items had any affect on how the drop rate was coded in the game?

If I pay full price for a game I don't want to have to pay extra to get what the single player game won't give me. As I asked before, the made the shite you can buy hard to obtain with out giving them money.

“Everybody will find at least one of these bots in the game (and there a couple hidden ones to pick up, too.)

I can see we will have to agree do disagree, you can buy the game and I won't, problem solved.

It's cosmetic DLC that gives quicker access to things that can be found in the game, hardly the "fleecing" that the commenters are raging on about.

I wouldn't call it fleecing but I would say that the practice erodes the challenge of the game. I guess the same can be said for cheat codes and those are optional as well. That being said, I do have a Game Genie in a box.

So this was on the Game Genie Wikipedia:

quote:

The Game Genie is a series of cheat systems originally designed by Codemasters and sold by Camerica and Galoob. The first device in the series was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, with subsequent devices released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, Mega Drive/Genesis, and Sega Game Gear. All the devices temporarily modify game data, allowing the player to cheat, manipulate various aspects of games and sometimes access unused content and functions. It is known as the first example of consumer-friendly "game enhancement" by means of directly altering the binary code of a game. Five million units of the original Game Genie products were sold worldwide,[1] and most video game console emulators feature Game Genie support. Emulators that have Game Genie support also allow a near-unlimited number of penises to be entered whereas the actual products have a much smaller limit that usually tops between three and six codes.
