| Conan the Barbarian starting on Spike 12:30 CST (Posted on 1/23/13 at 12:29 pm)
Finally! I am not fooled by Conan O'Brien! It's moments like this that make me wish I still smoked pot and could get baked, eat Cheetos, and watch Conan for the next 3 hours. What is best in life?

To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women. The original short-stories are awesome.

There are novels too. I have them all--both original and expanded versions. I also have the Howard letter--books of correspondence between Lovecraft and Howard where they discuss life and the shared mythos of their worlds. I like Conan a lot, but my favorite Howard character is Solomon Kane. James Purefoy--now on the following--did an amazing job in the relatively low budget "Solomon Kane" movie. The ending kinda sucked, but the movie itself was like the stories writ large on the silver screen, and that's all I can ask from a filmmaker. The movie's budget was only $40 million and it has a RT score of 89%. It was a victim of poor market. Even as a Howard fanboy I didn't know of it until after its European release.

That's the movie that started me on torrents. Waited for like a year after it came out in Europe and it still hadn't come out here. As far as I know it still hasn't. I finally just said frick it and downloaded it.

Conan the Musical Best Arnold movie ever. My 4 year old knows all the lyrics & my 3 month old's middle name is Conan. Took 3 kids for me to finally win that

Favorite Kull story is where he is transported to Bran Mak Morn's time. I can't recall the title at the moment. I can only imagine what Howard could have accomplished as a writer if he did not decide to off himself at 30 years old.

I thought I was the only one! Every time I flip through the cable guide and see Conan in that time slot I immediately think it is Conan the movie and click on it. I must have done this 50 times before learning my lesson that i was in for a huge dissapointment seeing that red pumpkinheaded joker instead of Schwarzenegger. I still stop when i see it in the viewing guide and suffer a brief moment of excitement before realizing it is only O'brien.

Add to that the fact that with the exception of James Earl Jones and Mako, there were no established actors in the film. They were all professional athletes or stuntmen.

Conan's dad was in Any Which Way You Can and Red Dawn.

And the King was an established actor, but they did not play big roles in the film. I guess that was my point.

I know. I just like Conan's dad and felt compelled to point that out. He also broke Clint Eastwood's arm in a no holds barred brawl and that was a significant accomplishment in those days.

JEJ killed it on Conan...his performance was absolutely mesmerizing as the cult leader/snake changeling dude. that music was intoxicating too.

Motown, our conversation made me look up and read about William Smith. This man has lived one of the most unbelieveable action packed lives I have read about. Actor, stuntman, spy, Korean war vet, world record holder, arm wrestling champion of the world and more. Just read the life and career section. I had no idea. William Smith

That is pretty impressive. He gave up being a super spy for a French harlot. Not every man can say that.
