Over the last few days I get the sneaking suspicion that slags might get fired.

I'm not against Spags getting fired, but then who do you hire that's better?

Kind of late in the process.

has anyone else noticed spags isn't in any of the pics at senior bowl so far? and that SP hasn't even mentioned his name once?

I think Lovie will sit out until he gets a HC job, which he will eventually.

I think you'd have to look at an assistant coach that you make into a DC.

I'd be shocked if he fired Spags.

Lofton said he believes fully in his system.

I don't think he is either.

But I think there will be a bloodbath on Defense.

This would be my guess. Maybe that is what he meant when he said the meeting they would have later on will be painful?

This is the crux of it. There is no one better who is willing to come. We're best off with spags.

I think that's exactly what he meant. They are going to make significant cuts.

I think this is more of Paeyton stating the obvious than it is him running Spags out of town. First, Spags was his guy he targeted to bring in. Second, it was well known that this is a defense scheme which takes time for the players to learn and succeed in. Third, Spags was coaching without the guidance and leadership of Paeyton, so we don't know how things would've been if P was here last season.

There are way too many variables in play here to fire Spags after one season. If we do fire him though, I would be all on board bringing in Lunchbox Ryan or the DC from Arizona that was let go. Not sure if either of these two were hired yet, but they both have a great track record of solid defenses. I personally want the Ari guy, but he'll be a HC very soon
