What meeting is this?

He basically just said they are going through meetings evaluating all of the players and staff and they are long and excrutiating.

I would think the first all coaches meeting of the year.
Where he tells them what he thinks of the jobs they did.
Who can pack and who can get to f@cking work.
That meeting. I would guess.

I did notice that when he was talking about who he missed talking to he mentioned Brees, Mickey, Tom Benson, Joe Vitt...and Will Smith.

I mean, seriously, is there a better interview in the NFL than Payton???

This has been awesome.

Really forgot how much I missed him representing our team and state

Yes, many. His interviews are usually very dry and have basically no info whatsoever. This was a bit better than most.

Maybe I just don't follow other NFL coach press conferences as much.

Just comparing him to Vitt and Kromer

Who would say gives better interviews?

Well his are more entertaining and funny, but if you watch this Payton interview it was very insightful and he had some really good analysis.

Never got much of that from Vitt.

Depends on what you mean by "better". For me thats entertainment value and forthcoming with info.

Vitt does for one. Vitt is hilarious.

Payton is almost always completely dry. He's definitely in the Bill Belichik school of interviews

Rex Ryan. He's such a buffoon they are always good.

Vitt tells it like it is, he doesn't hold back.

Gotcha, yeah they are funnier for sure. I just was impressed with the substance of this one.

Of course, maybe he was just so damn happy to be in front of a mic again that this will be the exception, not the norm.

Can't blame him if he really just wanted some time to bask in his return

I just think his football intelligence usually comes off in his interviews, even when he isn't saying much. Definitely similar to Bellichick in that way IMO.

Also why Joe probably will never be a head coach, and doesn't appear to aspire to do so.

I thought CSP was very metered and even toned. He made a good point about putting his feelings of if the punishment was fair or not behind him because there was nothing he could do about it.

Oh, to have been a fly on the wall for his meeting with Goodell.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: I would hate to have to go through Saints Training Camp this summer.

They need to go Rocky 3 style on this training camp for next season. The team has become soft.
