Cool search. Could it be because your search is only for the Senate and dems have the majority there?

Was speaking about the senate specifically. There is a decent spread (from what I saw looking through the first two pages) in the House. Kinda curious there is no R sponsors in the senate.

10 resolutions submitted.
Nearly all of them are procedural items. ..except:
quote:
A resolution amending the Standing Rules of the Senate to provide for cloture to be invoked with less than a three-fifths majority after additional debate.
quote:
A resolution to limit certain uses of the filibuster in the Senate to improve the legislative proc
..which are looking like ways for the D's in the Senate to ram whatever they want through with less resistance. D's would obviously try to remove both changes when R's retake the Senate in the near future.

None of the above? I think three out of ten are trying to abolish the filibuster, which just ain't cool. Was actually wondering if this had anything to do with Harry Reid the obstructionist, but please, don't answer the question some more.

Reid the POS. He would be against both if the GOP controlled the Senate.

I believe it has to pass the House first then goes to the Senate. Looks like their are alot of things it can get hung up in: How a Bill Becomes a Law

I'm new to politicing and didn't know anything like this site existed. I noticed they all looked like procedure mumbo jumbo but was interested to know: the House has 406 pieces of legislation submitted already, is this business as usual? Also really wanted to share that link.

First sentence in your link:
quote:
Laws may be initiated in either chamber of Congress, the House of Representatives or the Senate.
