Someone asked me what the hoopla was about. I told him that this was like a Single-A baseball team beating back-to-back MLB clubs for the chance at a title.

One step closer to a Bradford-ICT Europa League tie.

Nah. That would make for a small MLB.

Wait, we lost 3-1 to a minor league team...at home? I think we can find a cellar dwellar in MLB to liken Villa to...maybe the Indians? They were pretty good a couple years ago, right? (Admittedly, I don't watch much baseball.)

Houston Astros. Big city that should probably have a good team but doesn't and probably wont for at least 5 years.

Aston Villa is more like an Oakland A's or Minnesota Twins if we're looking for baseball analogues.

Teams with a fairly successful histories, that can no longer compete with the big spenders.

Aston Villa is probably the most successful club from the Midlands; one European championship and several domestic titles and cups. Nottingham Forrest is the only team with a comparable history.
