Spears is obviously being factored in as 0 stars, which is stupid since he is not evaluated (even though it shows 3.76 they must be using 3.62 instead with Spears 0 stars). Thus the minor bump of only 60 some odd points in our point total after the two 5 star bumps.

If either Spears or any of our 3 star players (e.g., Neal) get a 4th star and nobody loses their 4th star, LSU will eclipse 2800 and approach 2900 points (2875 range). If 2 players get 4 stars, then we're looking at 2950.

LSU stands a really good chance at being #1 overall when the dust settles in a couple of days.

This will be the highest point total on rivals in LSU history (2695 is the previous high in 2007).

I don't care what LSU's Rivals ranking is, this class is going to be a monster. Especially if we lock down a couple more studs.

Are you factoring in other teams gaining points?

Well if we get to the top spot it will probably be brief while others finalize their commitments.

Top 5 is excellent and we should all be ecstatic that we have such a nice class coming in. Especially since it has potential to rival our 2009 class.

My primary hope, just like most of you, is that we not only take all the top talent in-state for 2014, but also get some other top prospects from OOS, like Paris. If we do that, we should be in the top 3 next year.

LSU was the only team with the 5 star bumps from what I can see, so the biggest bump chances are gone (worth approximately 110 points per player plus average ranking bump plus top 5 player at their position bump).

Doubt LSU is #1, but its a solid class. Really would like a stud Safety and for one of the JUCO wr's to get in, though.

Rivals only uses the top 20 recruits in a specific teams recruiting class so the only way Spears would make a difference is if he jumps to 4 star status and makes our top 20. I don't think he gets 4 star status but it is possible.

You don't know that

Just like everyone predicted LSU to have thR greatest class ever in 2012 because Nacho Garcia had LSU his leader, and he and Avery were supposed to be 5*s.

With a name like that, he should've been a take. The staff missed on that one.

Thanks for the analysis.

Edit:
Never mind, forgot they only give points for your top-20.

Not sure what is going on, LSU should be no less than 2850 points right now.
