I am thinking about giving the new Galatoire's on Perkins in BR a shot tonight. I think they opened on Wednesday. Anybody been yet?

No, went back in the day at old location. Good was decent.

Drove by the building today. Very attractive exterior.

I agree. I dined a few times at the old BR location. It was pretty good, but not worth the drive out there. I live in 70808 and this one is really close, so I am curious to check it out.

The $19.05 lunch special was the best deal in town, but their location prevented most people from being able to take advantage of it due to time constraints.

I was there for dinner on Thursday-their second night open to the public. Kitchen had it pretty together, as the food was generally good, but service was very spotty (server didn't know what beers or bourbons they offered). Very, very noisy-more like the original, and very unlike their previous BR location (which I thought was nice). The Oyster's Rockefeller were good, sweetbreads, tasty, but portion minuscule (not a threat to Bayonna, that's for certain). I had the fish/crab Yvonne and enjoyed it very much.
You won't like one thing about it Kim. The bar was really, really slow. Hard to have the SBD and TBD when they never come out.

Just got back. I thought it was OK. The beer selection is the suck-Abita Amber and Blue Moon are their premium choices. I passed on beer and drank Tanq and tonics. Had a glass of wine with my meal. Like you said, the dining room is very loud.
As I figured, the menu is old school, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Our table of 4 shared the oysters Rockefeller, shrimp remoulade, duck crepe and crab apps. Remoulade was the best and duck crepe was just OK.
Wife and I both had the grilled salmon entree and it was solid. Served over lentils that were a little too salty for my taste, but still enjoyable. We ordered the fish cooked medium and they nailed it.
I'll give it another try.

Thanks for that Kim.
I'll try it at the end of the month. I like to give a new location a few weeks to smooth things over. Sounds like that should happen by the end of January.

I forgot to comment on the service, which was solid. They were pretty busy tonight but the service was still good. Impressive for the first weekend.

Enjoyed their lunch pre-fixe menu at original BR location, and the new one appears a major upgrade from the street. Hope the better location is a success for them.
Liked not loved their fare. Thought their famous turtle soup overrated..too sherry.
Can't wait for Trader Joe's and what else will be squeezed in the lot.

The old location was one of my favorites in BR. Can't wait to give it a try. I thought we would have to wait to let them get it together but it sounds like they hit the ground running.

What are the BR locations now?... For us out-of-towners.....

Perkins. On the corner of Acadian and right off the interstate.

Good location and plenty of parking. The restaurant is very nice and the outdoor patio area is a great looking space, but it is so close to 4 lane Perkins Road and would be kinda noisy I'd guess.

Yeah, the food was good, but not great IMO. Overall, it was a nice dining experience though.
