Went to Hopedale with my brother again today. Got there at about 9am, hoping the chill had subsided. Hmmph...we were early.

Lots of boats at BSM though, mostly flats boats like ours when we were launching.

We went across the MRGO, thru Stump Lagoon, almost to Eugenie, turned and fished the marsh west of Eugenie, southeast of Goose Flat.

Took a while to get em going, caught one undersized trout, but we were redfishing. Finally got em going and caught a 2 man limit and a few more released, all in about an hour. Left em biting. Fish kept were between 17"-23", released a couple rats, released several between 24"-29".

All fish caught on black/chartreuse soft plastic on jighead, bouncing on the bottom...

Define the "duck scene". There's lots of ducks according to what I saw yesterday, and few hunters. We heard one group/person shooting while we were in the first spot we fished. We saw a thousand ducks, including one huge flock that was in the last large pond we fished.

Nice catch! Were y'all sight fishing or just trolling around until y'all found em?

Attempting to sight fish, as always. But wind had water a little muddy. Most people would fish the lee shore, but the fish are on the windward shore, because the bait is pushed there. But the windward shore is muddier. The lee shore was clean enough, but fishless.
