Depends on if the two states have reciprocity agreements with each other.
If two states have a reciprocal agreement and you live in one of those states and work in the other, you would pay tax in the state in which you live.
If there's no reciprocity agreement, you have to pay in both states. But since TX doesn't have state income tax, sounds like you'll only pay LA taxes.

Well, JEEZ ... Of course that matters. There are all kinds of special rules for military pay both at the federal and state level.
