I agree on multiple levels Children shouldn't be pawns or weapons to bludgeon the other side into foolish legislation/policy Policy/legislation should never be developed in the wake of tragedy

I agree too. When people try to drag these families into ads and such it raises a red flag that their cause is bull shite.

Exploiting tragedies with crying children is a very effective way to push an agenda while trying to sound altruistic.

What about the little girl picking daisies that Goldwater blew up with a nuclear bomb? It worked.

My comment, and the OP were in regards to the appropriateness and not the effectiveness

Are you referring to politicians kids or kids in general? For the most part, pols kids should not be exploited for any ads...positive or negative. But whenever ANY major bill is signed it seems to always be about the kids.....see Obamacare and gun control.

If a bill is about kids, then kids should be used. I have no problem with people being straight with one another. having things 'off limits' to a discussion generally means people are ignoring a major issue.

But, but, but, this is about the kids. Didn't you listen to him and Biden. If they can save one kid it is all worth it. Doesn't matter how many you kill with abortions though...
