Not that layoffs have nothing to do with the economy...
But media has been a volatile industry for a while now. Reporters at traditional papers who have not embraced online have been on the chopping block for a long time.

I don't read NYT or Time because I feel they are very left leaning and promote an agenda for Obama. I bet many others feel the same. This causes less subscriptions and sales. Less sales causes a reduction in ad revenue. Less revenue leads to layoffs...

God this is fricking stupid. Yeah, Obama is the reason for newspapers having to scale back. He started the ball rolling on this 15 years ago by inventing new media.
