In 1998, I witnessed a huge brawl in the Quarter because of crap like this. NOPD should issue restraining orders on them stepping foot into the Quarter (kind of like a child molester near a school). Or, just drop them off at the Mayor's office.

When you have the 60 day arrests for murder in NOLA, do you really think that shoes mean a damn? It is a very fine display for advertising the city to future tourists, but that has been the case for far too long.

Give them a fair trial. Upon conviction, give them an hour each with their families. Then take them behind the courthouse and cave in their skulls with a hammer. Don't bother wasting a bullet on them. Bullets are too valuable these days.

It's really not as common as you think and anyone with half a brain should know not to give in to this crap.
I haven't seen it tried in at least 5 years.
With that said, these dudes need to just go for a swim in the river with weights on their legs. I hate scum.

Pretty much all these guys will use that line as their intro. It's not always easy for tourists from Des Moines to distinguish those who are just representing and carrying on a fine tradition of "local color" from those who may be trying to extort $40 or more from them.

That's what I remember. Last time it happened to me he walked up and started with the "I bet I know where you" crap and I noticed he had shoe polish and a rag in his hand. Before he could even finish I just told him to get lost and I went the other way.
