Gun Legislation won't even come up for a vote? (Posted on 1/16/13 at 5:54 pm)
Krautenheimer was just talking about the implications and said that he thinks any thing of the sort is dead on arrival to the house.
He talked about how the Dems got slaughtered in 94 after ramming through gun control and there is no way that Dems in the house will allow a vote so that the Dem Senators are put on the hot seat in having to vote...

This.
Obama will pass his EOs as feel good measures that will do nothing but spend more money. Talk about an AW ban but it won't pass. I'd be shocked if it truly passed.

There are 10 Democratic senators from rural states who have an NRA "A" rating plus Harry Reid who has a "B" rating. Those senators are the biggest obstacle to passing any meaningful gun legislation.

Exactly. That is probably the only good reason to wait on a vote in the house. If by some miracle the Senate were to vote on this it could bring out a primary challenge to any of those senators, or it dies and Republicans point out that the President is too extreme for his own party. Either way it's a win for the R's which means it won't happen.

I disagree. There is always, always, some chance that a new regulation would pass. I don't think it is worth the risk.
