What was Carroll or Russell thinking on that last play call?

5 yard out?

Run a fricking slant, pick up 15 yards and call a timeout to setup a 55 yarder. Atlanta was playing Hail Mary safe that would have been an easy completion.

Yeah there's only 6 second but the risk is much better than a Hail Mary.

The 5-yd out left 2 secs on the clock. I doubt they had time to run a 15-yd slant.

I agree and Pete should have been right on top of an official to call the TO. Seattle receivers ran their routes really slow those last two plays

They barely had enough time to run the out

Time. If they run a 15 yard out it's over, unless they get ten yards extra in two seconds.

The only thing they should do different is Wilson waiting til receivers get in endzone

I'm still confused as to what the frick Mike Smith was thinking calling timeout with 13 seconds left when he controlled the clock.

That game should have ended with that kick

They dont have their big leg kicker. Not enough time to get the 20 yards they needed for realistic fg.

Yeah that was pretty horrible. You play for the FG not the Hail Mary.

Should have ran straight up the field.

6 seconds was all there was on the clock.

Gotta love the NFL/SEC/NCAA caliber coaching on Tigerdroppings. We should all be making the millions instead of those other guys!

Not sure if serious...not only would that have taken more time for the 15 yd slant, but it would have at least ran 1-2 sec off before the timeout would even be called. They did the best that they could have done in that situation imo

Unless the receiver runs an 8 second 40 they technically could have made it.....but it would have been damn close. Still the better option. They really fricked up the end of the 1st half though.

The guy spent 3 seconds running sideways to get out of bounds. Receivers can run 40 yards in less than 5 seconds. They can run a 15 yard play in 5 seconds.

Again, this is about risk reward. The risk of trying to gain 15 yards in 6 seconds is much less than attempting a Hail Mary on the final play.

He had some pressure. Had to throw it a little early.

all seam routes would have been the correct call

which is why an out-route is fricking retarded

They had the slant covered and they couldn't risk getting tackled in the middle of the field. Not all offensive plays are open to Wilson but he sure makes them look like they are.

They played that half the way they ended the 1st half.

Worked out well for the Falcons. I'm happy that carroll's an idiot
