What book or series would you like to produce into a movie?

If you can make a movie out of your favorite book or book series, what would you do?

Mine would be to take Christopher Moore's "gospel according to biff" and turn it into a movie.

reading Sacre Bleu right now. It's odd in a good way.

I've always wanted to turn Dr. John's autobiography "Under a Hoodoo Moon" into a movie. Would be better than Cash and Ray IMO.

And make "And then there were none" into a slasher.

I actually agree with you. I think it would be really good if they dont rush through it.

The Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell.

I used to picture Bonnie Bedelia as Kay Scarpetta (Bruce Willis' wife from "Die Hard"), but she's probably too old now.

Maybe Rachel Weisz? Vera Farmiga? Charlize Theron? Cate Blanchett is a bit young, but I bet she could pull it off.

Josh Brolin as Marino

Kate Upton as Lucy (Kay's lesbian niece)

Robert Harris' "Imperium", "Conspirata", and the third and final volume to be published this year. Historical fiction regarding the life of Marcus Cicero, decline of the republic, the rise of Julius Caesar, etc. It has all the makings of another "I, Claudius" by Robert Graves.

Lamb is one of the funniest books on the planet. Would make a great movie, thought I don't know how they'd do the whole elephant yoga thing.

American Gods would be my dream project, though. That book is just straight up money.

Have they ever made a movie version of Rands The Fountainhead? I think it would be utterly fantastic as a movie.

Second "Lamb." I don't think that Swan Song could be done in a single film, would have to probably be an HBO mini series.

Will add Gaiman/Pratchett's "Good Omens".

I really wish Hollywood could do a version of the Clive Cussler Dirk Pitt books that didn't butcher them.

also

though in all honesty I think I'd rather most of my favorite books become HBO series than movies so long as they dont change too much up.
