I eliminated graduating seniors, junior draftees, transfers and walk-ons to get a ball park estimate at our current roster. I have bolded players who are rumored to be looking elsewhere. The roster may have a few glitches, but as best i can tell:

1 Rob Bolden QB SR
3 Odell Beckham Jr. WR JR
4 Alfred Blue RB SR
5 Jarrett Fobbs WR JR
6 Craig Loston S SR
8 Zach Mettenberger QB SR
9 Ego Ferguson DT JR
12 Corey Thompson S SO
13 Dwayne Thomas CB SO
14 Terrence Magee WR/RB JR
15 Jerrard Randall QB SO
17 Stephen Rivers QB SO
19 Derrick Raymond CB SO
22 Ronnie Feist LB SO
23 Lamar Louis LB SO
25 Kwon Alexander LB SO
26 Ronald Martin S JR
27 Kenny Hilliard RB JR
28 Jalen Mills CB SO
30 James Hairston PK JR
31 D.J. Welter LB JR
32 Jalen Collins CB SO
33 Jeremy Hill RB SO
34 Micah Eugene S SO
35 Lorenzo Phillips LB SO
36 Kavahra Holmes CB RSFR
38 Jamie Keehn P SO
39 Jerqwinick Sandolph S SO
41 Travis Dickson TE JR
43 Connor Neighbors FB JR
44 J.C. Copeland FB SR
45 Deion Jones LB SO
48 Seth Fruge LB SR
50 Reid Ferguson SNP SO
51 Trey Granier LB RSFR
52 Luke Muncie LB SR
54 Justin Maclin DE JR
55 Elliott Porter OL JR
56 Trai Turner OL SO
57 Lamin Barrow LB SR.
58 Tahj Jones LB SR
59 Jermauria Rasco DE JR.
65 Jerald Hawkins OL RSFR
66 Derek Edinburgh Jr. OL RSFR
70 La'el Collins OG JR
71 Jonah Austin OT SO
74 Josh Williford OG SR
75 Evan Washington OL JR
78 Vadal Alexander OT SO
80 Jarvis Landry WR JR
81 Armand Williams WR JR
82 James Wright WR SR
83 Travin Dural WR RSFR
84 Nic Jacobs TE JR
85 Dillon Gordon TE RSFR
86 Kadron Boone WR SR
90 Anthony Johnson DT JR
94 Danielle Hunter DL SO
95 Quentin Thomas DT RSFR
96 Mickey Johnson DT RSFR
98 Jordan Allen DE JR

60 returnees (could drop to 56)
plus 26 current commits
plus 2 (AJ and FF from last years class)
=88 scholarship players as is, 83 if the names in bold bail......attrition isn't a bad thing especially with some of the other names we are still after for 2013.

I always appreciate a good list

There is always one thing I never fully understand, though. How many exactly are we allowed? I've heard 85 as well as other numbers.

I believe you are allowed 85 total scholarship players.

Damn. If that is the case, we'll be cutting it close.

We will, but we will find a way. We always do. And we do it above board unlike some programs.

Yeah.. if those rumored to be leaving actually do leave, we won't have to pull any schollies.

What is our projected front seven? Does anyone know yet? I can imagine that Anthony Johnson and Ego Ferguson will man the middle, but outside of that, not sure.

Thanks for the list...

Maybe only 6 or 7 starting SR's on that list......not good for 2013, but upside is 2014 gonna be strong!

FYI the 26 current include AJ and FF, plus Bolden does not count under the 85 (Penn St. transfer thing)

Probably...

DE: Hunter and Rascoe
DT: AJ and Ego
OLB: Kwon, Tahj and Debo (pick two but for sure Tahj)
MLB: Barrow (I'm guessing, as others have, that Barrow moves inside to get the best three on the field)

The year we have more than 7 seniors starting is the first year of our decline. The great players don't have senior years.

Since I don't know a thing about him, is Neighbors on scholarship?

Good point about Bolden.

However, the 26 is from the Rivals list which is counting 25 current commits plus Logan Stokes who has signed. AJ and FF are not listed in that count.

Only somebody close to the program can answer that accurately. As the #2 FB I say it is more than likely.

The method I used in making this roster was eliminating all of the players who had no Bio info on the lsusports.net website. I figured they were walk-ons. I follow recruiting pretty closely, and Neighbors is the only name I know of that we didn't "recruit" yet still has a full bio.

I hear what you're saying, but not sure I agree with this. Looks like there were approx 9 starting SR's in 2003 and 11 in 2007. No substitute for SR leadership.

85 total. Back in the day you were allowed 120. So yeah its easier to win 19 ganes, but the mores games added the more scholly restrictions there have been. Talent is soread out now.

Could you imagine if bama or lsu could have 120 players on scholly? Youd actively take around 80 more top recruits off the board between those 2 schools.
