Even if 2013 is a "down" year, it'll be the last one for awhile.....

We played 15 freshman this past year, we're probably going to do the same next year. A lot of guys getting a lot of experience. You have to like the team moving forward.

2014 will be a very salty bunch, on both sides, even with a potentially a new starting qb. Not to mention how loaded LA is in 2014.

2015 is impossible to really talk about now but given how young we are, you gotta feel good about where our team should be at by then. Hell, maybe we lean on our top flight D again and CLM finally hires a good OC. Plus that 2014 haul will be coming to fruition........

NOTE: I think 2013 is a 10-2 type year, I'm not buying this down nonsense. But I recognize the team will have a ton of expierience going into 2014.

I was actually thinking this the other day.

Barring something crazy, 2015 will be an amazing team. I mean, loaded to the freaking gills.

Obviously 2014 will be pretty damn loaded, but I don't see why 2013 will be any sort of disappointment. We may be losing big name guys, but we sure as hell got a lot of underclass men playing time this year. It reminds me a lot of when we lost Nevis, Sheppard, and Peterson after 2010 and everyone thought 2011 would be a rebuilding year.

Esp with the tough schedule. And 2011 was a monster schedule for sure. I actually think it helps us more then hurts us moving forward. Something that isn't talked about enough is the fact that in 2011 we knew we had Oregon on the big stage to get it started. Taking that into Spring and Summer really motivated our team to be ready on day 1.

This year we got a very good TCU team in Jerry World, that's a big stage. Couple that with the fact that everyone is going to be pegging us as outside the top ten due to the personnel losses. I can think of 85 guys that are probably going to use that as motivation going forward.

LSU Football 2013 has a few chips on their shoulder and I think they come out motivated to shut the nay-sayers up. The talent and coaching (at least on D) are there, and the offense can only get better with everyone pretty much coming back.

I love how the "next" year will always be the greatest ever among the rant.

Are you replying this exclusively because of my assertion of the 2015 squad?

Damn, some people on here just love to paint with a broad stroke without thinking about context.

Does LSU not have to go through Alabama in those years?

GTFO of here with that garbage. I hope we play them every year until the end of time. Wouldn't have it any other way, even if I could.

What does that have to do with how talented and deep the 2015 team will be?

The same thing you are saying about those future teams could have been said about last year's team, and hell, this year's team to an extent. They are all loaded and extremely talented.

I pointed out one year specifically that I really think the roster will be spectacular with experience at QB in either Rettig or Jennings.

And I still am waiting to hear what this has to do with Alabama.

With as talented as the 2015 team will be, and all others, Alabama will be just as talented with a better coach.

I couldn't agree with you more. In fact I was one of the people saying that!

But if you look around at most of the threads on this board, we are the minority. People are calling for 8-4 and 7-5 seasons for LSU in 2013. I'm not saying its not possible but I certainly don't see it that way. that's what the second post on this thread is about. I think we're going to be great next year. I think this is going to be an extremely productive spring and summer with the large amount of youth currently on the team, the great recruiting haul, and the big game week 1.

This whole thread is about me saying "Fine, you think 2013 is going to be a down year, I get that. Maybe you're right, but whether you are or not, 2014-15 I see VERY good teams"

Maybe, maybe not. CLM is 3-4 against Saban and 5-4 overall against Bama. The margin of difference is thin, we could easily win 2 maybe 3 in a row vs Bama with or without Saban. It's happened before.....

OP doesn't have a clue about the talent in 2014, much less 2015.

Seriously. I don't even know what to say to this idiot, thank you.

I'm not saying I know what's going to happen 19 months from now and what exactly the depth chart is going to look like. but considering who were recruiting, who's playing now, and how much eligibility they're going to have left, It's not a stretch for me to say we are going to be a very talented and experienced team in 2014.
