| Not being ranked in top 10 will be a blessing. (Posted on 1/8/13 at 10:35 pm)
it will help bring back the "something to prove mentality " Seems like this years team was sleep walking , too many guys were playing the like they were mentally done. I saw it in the north texas game. the younger guys will step up . The only position I'm worried about is CB . I'm not sold on Collins being a starter and depth is concerning. This team played with no swag , I think they get it back, the pressure is off.

We need the swagger of 2011. It'll be interesting to see who stands up... I like us in the underdog role also, we play better that way.

LSU started 2011 ranked number 4 and they were number 1 by the end of week 4. I'm not sure how that season is proof that "we play better as underdogs" or whatever.

We played much better as the underdog this year. The crowd is more electric when expectations are lower as well.

Could be a benefit. Preseason rankings are bogus anyway. If LSU starts off hot enough they will rise in the rankings. They are kind of worthless anyway til mid October.

Ugh, the team doesn't need "swagger", they need better coaching and discipline. I watched Bama roll over Notre Dame and I saw a well coached team full of individuals doing their job well. You do that right and you don't need to rely on nebulous buzzwords like "swagger" and "intensity" and "heart".

Jones said it best , we don't play the scoreboard, we play to the standard. What is LSUs standard? LSU needs some leadership from the top and not this goofball persona that Miles is propagating.
