What do the Miles supporters believe it will take to actually develop a legit QB

Miles has obviously done a horrendous job of picking out offensive coordinators and some say his fingerprint is on the offensive scheme. Regardless, our QB play is a joke and has been which is either poor recruiting or poor player development, do the Miles supporters see this as an issue? If so, what's the solution and do you believe Miles will do anything to improve that facet of the offense?

When players consistently don't execute, whether you want to blame the o-line, the coordinators or whomever, it still falls back on the head coach.

can they answer a straight question about the offense? they always start spouting how many wins we've had. That's not the question.

they like miles and everything is fine. will they be happy to see the same offense, or worse, next year and the years to come?

I really find it amusing that Miles' quarterbacks had no problems at OSU and the first few years he was here... high flying explosive offenses we the norm. What has changed so much?

Yes it is an issue. I think both poor recruiting and very poor player development. I am not sure Miles is will ever bring in a top flight oc cause either a good one will not come or Miles selects a retread.

So it's Miles fault the QB overthrows receivers? That he misses at times wide open guys? Im sorry I didn't know miles was on the field, you can teach all you want the bottom line is, It's on the players to execute and do their jobs. Bottom line. Stop with the retarded threads already.

You see, its all execution in their minds. For five years now, we have not had good enough players to properly execute our genius system and outstanding playcalling.

So over throwing someone is now contributed to the play that's called? I'm trying to understand the basis of your argument...

Whose fault is it that Mett didn't get any game experience during all the blowouts last year? We are talking about developing players.

we've been in the bottom 50 of the NCAAA in total offense for over 5 years running, it's more than a trend.

After that embarrassing loss in the NCG you would have thought Les was gonna change his offensive philosophy, he didn't. Why would he change anything today? Les Miles ego is in the way of him becoming a great coach. I think Miles luck and great defenses has run its course.

Yep, you're right. Its all about that 3rd down pass that Mett overthrew. I'm agreeing with you.

Hopefully one day we will get some talent at LSU that will be able to properly execute our outstanding game plan and game calling. Until that happens, we can all thankfully count on Les and Stud to keep winning some games for us.

re: What do the Miles supporters believe it will take to actually develop a legit QB

LEs hired a new oc, what happened was not his fault. He wasnt going to fire stud after the situation he was put in and how much better the offense actaully was last year than in 09 and 10.

he also went out and got the juco qb the fans wanted. Remeber they didnt want anymore black qbs because black = "dual threat". By game 3 those same fans wanted bolden to play.

Lets look at what hapened when the ofense did start peforming better. Well first the oline finally was gelling. With that brought a superior run game and helped open up the pass game. The wrs actually decided to start catching the balls. But this is all for not becuase rt when the offense started coming together, the defense started falling apart.

279 passing attempts to 591 rushes.

356 passing attempts to 527 rushes.

Defense gave up 17.5 pts a game in 2012 to 11.3 a game in 2011.

But your rt, they didnt change anything.

33 first downs by the opponent this year were from penalties, compared to 21 last year. Thats on the defense and thats the diff between extending bamas scoring drive and extending clemsons scoring drive. but we are going to go a head and blame miles for that since thats what we do when anything goes wrong. We just wont give him credit when anything goes rt.

He had to let JJ play and keep the games close.

1. we didn't have the WRs this year that we have had in years past.

2. Our offensive line suffered setback throughout the season and had to break in 2 fresh, and a sophmore on the fly while using a Guard as a LT

I don't think either give the best impression of a QB.

Truth and he really sucked in 2008.

Mett made progress this year and as seen in the Bama game, is a more than capable quarterback.

I just wish he had started last season and had more experience going into 2012.

I think the offense will be much improved next season no matter who is the OC.

Nevertheless, a new OC/play caller is desired.

I'd say our QB play improved this year. Mett threw for about 600 more yards than Lee and Jefferson combined last year, while playing 1 less game.

And I'd definitely say Mett improved throughout the season.

In the month of November he threw for 1068 yard, which was about 40% of his season total in 4 games. In that span his completion % was 61.65% with a 2:1 TD:Int ratio. He definitely improved down the stretch of the season.

I wouldn't call him a joke this past year, just a first year starter with inconsistent play at times.
