Talking about Saban's legacy "...Les Miles had his shot at beating Saban for the second time in a row last year in the NCG and blew it. Now no one knows his name..."
I hope we kick their tails in Tuscalooser now more badly than ever before, big names on defense or not.

Paul knows his name....because apparently can't stop talking about him. Even after bama wins the NC.

Umm, that would've been THREE times in a row!
He also said that Miles was the biggest loser last night. Which poster on TD is Finebaum, he's obviously reading this???

It really amazes me that, in the world of college football where "every game" supposedly "counts", this fact makes Saban a genius.

Seems like a genius like Saban could have beaten a moron like Miles on his home turf, no?

Seems like a genius like Saban could be a first year SEC team (that the idiot Miles beat in College Station) on his home turf, no?

Amazing the hubris of these people.

Also amazing that supposed LSU fans fall for that crap.

its true I am sick of LSU fans thinking the only way to beat Saban is for him to leave, we had them beat and we shite the bed, and the NCG we all know we shite the bed there too. MIles could have implanted himself as one of the best in history and Saban shows why he is the best, give him an inch he takes it.

You cant. but ND was the biggest loser last night considering they actually played and lost. Les Miles gets his fair share of pub. He is not forgotten.

This is prototypical Finebaum agitation, but there is an underlying truth: Miles had a chance to put Saban and Bama in their place on 1/9. All we had to do was win on the field that night in New Orleans, in our home state. Set aside all the nonsense about whether there should have been a rematch, all the BCS hoopla, all the ignorant statements by Bama about restoring order - all we had to do was WIN that night and it would have significantly altered the trajectory of the two programs. There is no getting around that truth. Win on the field in the Superdome and LSU becomes the ascendant program in the SEC.

Instead, we trotted out the worst championship game plan I've ever witnessed. The coaching was just atrocious on every level. I'll never understand it. I can only attribute it to pride or laziness or sheer incompetence. History on the line, and you don't even show up.

That game was an inflection point, Finef*ck is right about that.

That comment should tell you all you need to know about Gump nation. They know that LSU is their real competition for SEC supremecy and national titles over the last couple of years. It's the reason McCaron was crying on the sidelines in Tiger Stadium. Once they beat LSU, they felt that had won it all.

The killer part is that LSU fans know this, but we also never know if our head coach is going to run fake field goals on 4th and 12, put in a never used tailback to run a jump pass even after the defense calls timeout to discuss the personnel, or spike the ball with 1 second left.

Why doesn't he say what actually happened: It's took Saban two tries to beat a team with a special needs QB and the very same coach he's trying to denigrate.

In The Game Of The Century, Saban lost on a reverse TE pass in the Red Zone.

Was he an idiot?

And yet, in the National Championship, that same coach refused to pull that special needs QB when everyone watching, even those not watching, could see he wasn't getting the job done.

I'll say this. I know for a fact that Les Miles outcoached Nick Saban for two straight games in 2010 and 2011. The regular season game in 2011 was a bad defeat for Saban. He kept trying impossible (for his kickers) field goals. He let the time run out at the end of regulation because he didn't know if Les Miles was going to run a fake punt. Ole Leslie got Nicky on those two.

However, I think Saban has more than paid him back with the last two games. Look no further than the two minute drive by Bama in Tiger Stadium, and then the herp derp that was the LSU two minute drive that followed.
