So with the recent events and peolpe talking about stocking ammo and guns got me thinking about the amount of ammo that people stock.
I don't have any ammo stocked up besides a fex boxes of shells for hunting, but if you wouldn't mind post how much ammo per caliber you have. Looking to purchase a few firearms in the future and wondering the standard amount of ammo.
Thanks. Also, sorry if this was done recently. I searched but the search function on this site sucks.

I hadn't considered stocking any until I saw the way folks were buying up guns like crazy after the Connecticut tragedy. Didn't see much ammo on the shelves at all, and with all the renewed talk about gun control, I've been buying up some when I see it.
I have found a small amount, not a lot and looked today at a couple of stores and no luck.
I would like to have 300-400 practice rounds for each of my guns and maybe 100 defense rounds. I don't have that much right now.

Im just starting to really stock up. Right now I have 200 rounds of all my handgun ammo. I only keep a couple of boxes of my hunting rifle and shotgun ammo. I do have almost 2000 rounds of 22lr. Next I am going to try and stock up on .223

Yep. If I hadn't lost all my guns in that fiery boat crash train wreck last year I may would have maybe stocked on a little ammo. But since all that happened I'm just gonna register democrat and apply for food stamps.
