Question regarding WR Cam Sims from Ouachita

I saw this in the paper this morning and wanted to see if anyone felt like it would have an impact on whether we offer him or not.
I know the 2 sport deal took place w/ FB and baseball but wasn't sure how one coach or the other would like it with FB and basketball overlapping.

Sims, known more for his football career as a first-team All-Northeast receiver in football, plans to play both sports at the next level and has already received dozens of football scholarship offers."I really like basketball," Sims said of his affection for the hardwood. "I will try to do both (in college). I just try my best to get rebounds and put-backs for the team."

I think he will learn that he doesnt have the size or athletic ability to play D1 Basketball. He will be football only

I don't think it would be an issue.
I see him getting an offer soon. Possibly as soon as this weekend.
Ronald Martin played both sports for a short time. Miles has been very accomodating for guys that want to try to do two sports. From Johnny Jones perspective, it's almost like a no lose situation. You get a guy that's generally going to be more talented than a walk-on, but you don't have to give him a scholarship.

Not being a dick but I would have to disagree with you. If he has the size to play major D1 football I think he is big enough to play D1 basketball. I would think the FB is a little more physical than basketball. Also, he is 6'4 190 and will def. add some weight and possibly somee height. And playing in the highest classification in LA on a top 10 ten year in and year out doesn't hurt.

Miles has probably been the most accommodating D1 coach when it comes to letting guys try to play two sports.

That's the beauty of having the News-Star as your paper. People not only write this stuff up but someone goes behind them and approves it. I'm sure they could've worded this a little better.

Because his name is Cameron Sims. One cool thing about being a good high school player is that if you are 3 stars or up only part of your name is required for a google search.
