Just a quick thought, since Chicken seems to be getting rid of the CC board, will this thread be locked or whacked?

as the days go by I am less and less optimistic about this. why wait until after the bash to hire Cam? with his NFL pedigree it could only help recruiting. does anyone actually think a recruit is coming here specifically to be a part of our current offense with studrawa calling the shots?

because cam was holding out for an nfl offer and now that one hasn't come along, it's too late for him to get up to speed recruiting?

IMO some recruits have developed a relationship with stud and making the change prior to signing day could lead to a recruit being upset. I don't think it definitely would affect a commitment, but it's damage control.

Also, the bash could just be a timing thing as they would be working things out with cam, and being its so close to signing day they just have it on the back burner.

just an attempt at justification. Miles kind of did the same thing in 2008 with naming the co dcs after the bash.

Cam hasn't recruited anyone since like 2001. I think that's a pretty big factor.

I kinda agree with this... But my "brain" says otherwise so we'll see.

I just think it's best to not ruffle feathers. No reason to appear unstable right before signing day; it would only give kids a reason to decom.

Plus, you never know how close stud is to the kids he recruited.

A lot of kids commit based on comfort with the staff. Any change in staff this close to signing day would result in more time and effort to ensure current commits stay committed.

Not saying kids are committed here because of Stud, but if a change is made then you have to re-recruit those kids and get them familiar with Cameron. And most of these kids have no clue who Cameron is, so his NFL pedigree wouldn't help anything in this class.

So if Les were to make a change and has Cameron already lined up, then there's no real positives for making the move until after signing day, other than appeasing a portion of the fan base.

we arent recruiting anymore offensive players so it doesnt matter, not to mention les and company are working around the clock all over the country recruiting. no way les has time to sit down with cam to negotiate

Only way I can see anything happening is for Stud to “move on” and Ensminger to “retire to ad office”.

Then LSU could hire a OL coach with TE experience.

Could have a staff like:

OC/QB - Cam Cameron

QB - Kragthorpe

RB - Wilson

WR/TE - Henry (coached TEs at Raiders)

OL with TE experience - (ie: [NFL] Mike Devlin, Jerry Fontenot, Joel Hilgenberg, Chris Scelfo, Paul Wulff, Mark Hutson) -or- (Ben Wilkerson, Hal Hunter (LSU guy and coached with Cameron at Chargers), Pete Mangurian)
