That makes sense. John Harbaugh was basically a career ST coach when the Ravens gave him the HC job. So I doubt he told Cameron very much, other than very broad strokes like when to take the air out of the ball, when to throw a little more, etc. I doubt he had much, if any input into the Monday to Saturday process of offensive game planning.

My sense has always been that Miles is the same on game day, but may be more hands on during the week. You may know more on that than me. Regardless, is it that level of during-the-week gameplan involvement that you "think" is the main variable for Cam?

i cannot disagree more. its been 5 years, he hasn't developed a single NFL-caliber lineman or done a thing in recruiting. the sooner hes gone, the sooner LSU gets better.

My biggest doubt is miles agreeing to give someone full reigns of the offense. Particularly on gameday. But he's never brought in someone like Cameron, who might be the only OC out there that can get les to step back. It'll likely either be the end of our woes or it'll put a huge dent in a friendship.

It's about equal. Les and his staff meet on game week. They talk about different "looks" that will give them the best chance to win, Wrinkles that might work, and the final game script. Les gives the final say on the script and stud calls from the script.

This is my main concern as well. I'd be interested to know how Miles feels about that particular issue.

Their friendship has a foundation built on respect and many years of becoming close. I think the fit would be natural and a home run. Cam, from what my "brain" tells me, is the type of guy that's gonna come in and meet with les and say stuff like "you know that fake FB lead, HB pitch y'all did to ford? I like that, what do you think of maybe running an end around off that or slip screening to the FB you originally faked to?" He won't say this stuff is crap...he'll improve it and keep what he likes. He'll get guys out of the box...imagine our I-form with JC leading for Hill with only 6 guys in the box.

The most important thing to me is that cam isn't a "yes man" to Les and just say he likes everything les does and tells him some things that les likes can work, but adjustments have to be made (like your example) and I don't think cam will be a yes man which is huge.

Hopefully he tells him that our toss iso eliminates the threat of pass faster then any other play in the world and that the entire defense can sell out on the rb at that point.

I think this is a best case scenario hire if it happens, and I really really hope your not trolling us.

I 98% agree with this. 2 times Les ran a counter to this and both times were big gains. 2010 - Iso Toss to the TE around vs Bama. And 2011 - fake the iso toss to a cross buck to Hilliard for like a 35 yard run vs Auburn. I got no problem with the Iso toss, I do have a problem with the frequency of counters run off of it. Should be 1 counter for every 5 times you run it. Right now the ratio is like 65 : 2 lol.

My understanding is that les has the ultimate respect for cam and trusts him.....he views him as an equal so that is why this will be the best hire for lsu. Cam will have full control because hes no puppet.

Let me ask yall a question....if you were les and crowton or stud are the offensive coordinator for you, would you trust them? Because i sure as shite wouldnt. That is the reason why people bash les, but we would all do the same in that situation.

Do you "think" that Stud already has something else lined up? Or do you "think" Stud has already agreed to stay as OL coach? Is there any chance that Stud could throw a monkey wrench into this deal, if Miles can't find a landing spot for him?
