Dems want 1T more in Taxes this year (Posted on 1/7/13 at 8:13 am)
quote: Democrats say they want to raise as much as $1 trillion in new revenues through tax reform later this year to balance Republican demands to slash mandatory spending. Democratic leaders have had little time to craft a new position for their party since passing a tax deal Tuesday that will raise $620 billion in revenue over the next ten years. The emerging consensus, however, is that the next installment of deficit reduction should reach $2 trillion and about half of it should come from higher taxes.

The sad thing is it is not just dems talking points it is the media's directive from Obama. They think if they say it out loud so many times and get liberals to post how cool it is on TD's. That by the time they raise the debt ceiling to infinity no one will be shocked and will conform.

If it were earmarked strictly for debt reduction and there were entitlement cuts that would equal or be greater than that $1T number, I could be for it.
We know that will not happen though.
Obama is the most effective president in history IMO at getting his agenda accomplished.

Proof that "fair share" has not true upper bound. For democrats "fair share" = more, no matter how much they are taking.
