Savage 30.06 mis fired on a good buck (Posted on 1/6/13 at 1:09 pm)
I have never had this happen until Friday The gun is only two years old. The pin barely touched the bullet. I ejected the shell and threw another one in. Took a bad shot shot because I panicked. Tracked blood for three hours! Lost him. The gun is clean. I shot it about 15 times before the season with no problems. What's the deal?

Yes it does. But should I bring it to a gunsmith? I have a Savage 270 that is 30 years old that has been abused. Never had a single issue. Are you saying it's just a fluke?

Sad but true. Had it happen with my slug gun while dighting it in before season one shot. Rather it be the primer wasnt set right, or firing pin just didnt connect right or what.. It just happend. Lucky wasnt on a deer, nothing you can do to prevent it.
