Is going for 2 worth it in some situations?

It seems like if you're able to convert a 2 point conversion early in the game it would kinda mindfrick the other team into thinking they're having to play from way behind.

I could see it being a decent idea for over matched teams. Then again if you don't get it then it would be a big let down.

I know this is a pretty dumb thread but it seems like sometimes the reward of a 2 point conversion out weighs the downside.

Absolutely and you only have to make half of them to break even

I'm never in favor of going for 2 unil at least halfway through the 4th quarter. Maybe a little sooner depending on the deficit. I've seen missed conversions come back to frick a team too many times.

I wonder how many times this Chip Kelly philosophy has saved a game for them. Serious question.

I'm just saying if you're clearly outmatched by another team and you score first... why not go for 2 and make it an 8-0 game? To me that would really bother me if I was the other team. It would almost make it feel like a two possession game.

This.

Should go for it more than kick a PAT.

It cost the one (Stanford Game) because they had to put it on the foot of their kicker and he wasnt used to kicking in game
