No they don't.

Gay people think they need openly gay athletes to step up though.

Well it would certainly help gay people a lot as far as being accepted by everyone instead of hated by some and praised like they're gods for being gay by others

Maybe I meant gay people need role models in sports. Currently, the only role models are TV characters who are living stereotypes. If gay kids growing up could see a normal guy being masculine and physical, you'd see much more normal, masculine gay people.

Most of the gay people I know actually are normal masculine dudes. You wouldn't even know they were gay unless they told you. shite, the starting center on my high school football team came out in college and he was basically a Chris Farley clone.

I think that's his point; the way gay people are often portrayed in the media and in movies/tv is very flamboyant and obsessed with standing out/being different. When the reality is that most of them are completely normal people.

Also I just want to point out that it's funny you're dropping gay knowledge bombs and you're an Aggie fan

I know. But I'm talking about media portrayal.

Ahh I see.

That makes sense then.

Hell, for how gay friendly Hollywood supposedly is they sure don't have a problem pushing the flamer stereotypes.

Of course, they do that for everyone. All jocks are meatheads, cheerleaders are bimbos, frat guys are crazy douchbags etc etc etc.
