I drew a lottery hunt for the 19th of january. Anyone ever hunt there? If so, what can I expect. Are there units better than other? If so, which ones?

Thanks

It's a pretty popular place for south Delta hunters. I've never been because I'm not a big enough duck hunter to go on public land, but I always hear of people killing ducks there.

They have a bulletin board with the total kills from each unit for the season, the number of hunters, etc... Apparently they have been doing pretty well. You won't know which order you get to pick until that morning.

ETA: So you will know which unit is better when you get there by seeing how much has been killed where.

I know some guys that will not have been drawn, but still still go over there and go if nobody is there to claim a certain unit.

My bad. I wasn't meaning just one particular unit. They go and just take whatever unit wasn't taken at the drawing.

I'm sure there are units they prefer, but I don't know enough about it to know which are the best. But, the guys I know have access to some pretty good private land, and are still willing to go over there from time to time, even when there's a chance they may not get to hunt at all.

I went two tears ago. Its a nice set up. Game wardens will tell you good holes but i think they draw a hole like at sherburne.

You need a fourwheeler
We saw thousands of ducks but they werent decoy friendly

The geese flight sounds like a damn 737

Are there blinds or do you just find some cover?
