Extraordinary reputation among coaches. Very good hire. Excellent special teams guy. No idea if he can recruit at high level, but he can coach at a high level. It'll sound crazy, but there are some who thought he was a couple of years away from possibly getting an HC job in the NFL.

Made it clear in my post on Friday about AU coaching hire updates that he was the guy but here were a cpl of issues to settle. Give Gus credit for closing the deal.

You guys hearing any names for those? We're still looking for a TE coach as well. That's the last spot we have open on our staff.

There's chatter about D Craig to WR coach but I'm not buying it. Tim Horton is also still being mentioned for WR or TE. Ellis Johnson said like a week ago Gus has everybody hired but hasn't announced it yet. So we'll see.

And btw for The Sandman - dont hold out hope for Craig. That ain't happening. Rumors of him "reaching out" to Gus were just that. According to someone on FSU staff once Jimbo wasn't going to AU Craig wasnt either. AU was jimbo approved leverage for him to get raise at FSU.

Yeah he is still being mentioned to stay on with us as the TE coach. I'm not really buying it because there would have been no reason not to announce it yesterday when they announced that Taver Johnson had been retained. Hopefully he gets a job with one of us. He's a great guy and I would definitely not want to see him take a step back to a smaller school.

Nice hire. He's so well thought of in the NFL, I'm somewhat surprised he took a job with a college team as a positional coach. Maybe he was wanting out of the league.

Very good hire. Had agreed to join Tennessee's staff under Kiffin to replace Gran and then Kiffin went to USC a day later. Also agreed to join our staff last year but couldn't get out of his deal with SD.

Supposedly he wants to get back to the college level, no clue why but that's what's being said.

I don't think the issues were college coaching related. I think they were responsibility and compensation related.

I hope AU is done courting DC permanently. I hope he has a successful career, but it's painfully obvious that he is loyal to Jimbo, his coach at Auburn, and not Auburn University itself.
