Kudos to Vilma - i like a player who has passion to defend his team, teamates and his coaches.

Big difference between a journalist literally writing a story of quotes and a player with no knowledge of what was said tweeting at the journalist calling him a liar.

Maybe...but why is he doing it? He has to know he's finished.

Maybe it was the poor level of LB play but coming off injury and missing camp and a new DC I thought he was OK. And I'm sure he knows his conrtact is too large. You think his skills are too far gone for the NFL?
I for one want him back to back up the MLB spot.

Did Vilma call HOlder a liar or are you just libeling him?

What did he show you when he came back that says he belongs? The only thing I like about Vilma's on field play is his presence. And they can hand him a clipboard and a headset for that. Backup MLB spot, sure, but do you think he would accept that on the league's worst defense ever in the history of recorded time?

i took that first tweet to mean he was calling Holder's story BS...not the fact that he used an anonymous source BS.

I didn't see the second tweet until just now...and it appears it is the latter rather than the former, so i retract my statements about Vilma

No, but going after the journalist on the most public place on the Internet is the right way to do it.

I have no issues with Vilma doing it on a public forum. The point of Holder's article was to show the public that a certain player is unhappy with Spag's scheme, and him as a person. By Vilma replying on Twitter, it is showing that he doesn't agree with what the player said/what Holder wrote.

The story is on NFL.com

Steve Spagnuolo Assailed by New Orleans Saints Player

Interesting quote from the story:
quote:

We don't know what player made these comments, but we do know Spagnuolo is a lot more likely to be with the team next year than the player who tore him apart.

It's also been updated with Vilma's tweeted response to Holder.

Shanle Ellis or Harper. Greer and Jenkins don't seem the type.

Yeah twitter is a great place to start... Or maybe, just maybe, he should keep it in house and make a few phone calls. No, but going after the journalist on the most public place on the Internet is the right way to do it.

Seems as if we are dealing with another dumb journalist here

Holder is a fricking joke. Like when Randy Moss was supposedly in town during the off season. Holder ran with it from an "anonymous source" which happened to be someone who thought they saw him and sent him a Facebook message.
